Mr. Kuria Ng’ang’a

Experience & Activities

Geologist Ngángá Kuria is a Registered Geologist and has served GSK for more 5 years in different positions. He has served as an Executive Member in 2008, Assistant Treasurer between 2009 to 2011. Between 2011 and 2012 he was the GSK treasurer and a Board member of the Geologist Board before taking a break to advance his studies. Following a successive elections held 2021, Geologist Kuria came back to GSK leadership as the Secretary.

He is a geologist with wide experience spanning over 20 years from mineral exploration, water supply to oil field interpretations. An MSc holder in Mineral Exploration and Mining Geology, Kuria he has carried out various projects with the government and private companies. He has sited and delineated various ore bodies in Kenya like gypsum in Garissa, limestone in Mwingi among many others. He has been in involved in assessment of SGR corridor, roads, bridges to housing schemes.  With Post Graduate Diploma in Basin Analysis and Petroleum Geology, Joseph was involved in oil field interpretations in Western Australia during oil drilling program. A licensed Hydrogeologist, Kuria has carried out vast groundwater and related geochemical explorations, environmental assessment studies as well as environmental impact analysis of geo-hazards.  He has been involved in various urban and rural water supplies projects in Eastern Africa.  Geologist Kuria was a team member that mapped the North Eastern Kenya aquifers under different programs like World Bank, African Development Bank among others.
