3. A member teaching geology in a department of a recognized University
4. A member practicing geology in the private sector 
5. A member from each relevant government ministry appointed by the governing council for a two year term.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Approve new disciplines to be recognized by the society
• set guidelines and Professional examination for admission to Professional membership
• Admit members as per requirements of section 3 of the constitution
• Handle nomination and selection of Fellows of the Geological Society of Kenya
