James Alex Nyandigisi

Experience & Activities

Geol. James Nyandigisi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from the University of Nairobi and Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management, from Kenyatta University. In 2012, he completed the Advanced Project Planning and Management Programme from Kenya School of Government. Currently pursuing a MSc in Geothermal energy technology at Dendan Kimathi University of science and technology.

Geol. Nyandigisi is registered Kenyan Geologist #279 and an executive member of the Geological Society of Kenya (GSK). He has >15 years’ professional experience in providing geoscience-related services for mineral and geothermal exploration and development projects. He is a subject matter expertise in geology project planning & implementation, Mineral & geothermal exploration, Exploration drilling, Mineral resource evaluation, mineral resources project development planning, Wellsite geology management, Geoscience database development and management, and mineral resource operations management.

Geol. Nyandigisi has vast experiences in planning, supervising, and implementing of geological, geophysical, and geochemical exploration and development projects, exploration, appraisal and development drilling, geo-resource evaluation and appraisal, development planning, wellsite geological management, geo-resource database development and management, geo-resource evaluation and management during operations. Extensive hands-on fieldwork expertise in both greenfield and brownfield geothermal, gold and base metal exploration, discovery, feasibility and development; competent geological field mapping; exploration target generation; drill hole targeting and core and RC chip logging. Extensive expertise in geothermal, gold, and base metal exploration, borehole geology, structural field mapping and development.  Geol. Nyandigisi has worked in both private and both sectors.

KenGen Plc. Provided technical advice resource evaluation and development. Geothermal resource evaluation and optimization through 3D modelling using petrel for well setting and continued development during operation.  Implementation of Geo-data management strategy and System using Ms Access/SQL and designed the geothermal Geo-master database. Contributed to the efficient Geo-data management of the Olkaria and Eburru geothermal projects by automating the wellsite geological logging process thus enabling real-time data acquisition. Participated in training of KenGen employees on geo-data management systems and geothermal master database management. Participated in the planning and management of geothermal resource evaluation, prefeasibility and feasibility studies and other consultancies projects in Kenya, Djibouti and Ethiopia.

Kilimapesa Gold (Pty) ltd. Consulting on matters gold development and resource estimation & evaluation and development. Updating the resource base and designing exploration programs to increase the resource and optimization through 3D resource modelling. Responsible for gold exploration & exploitation, including geochemical soil sampling, Adit sampling, grade control and map production for the mine and monthly mine production. Provision of logistical service for the clearance of gold bar bullions and gravity concentrates. Assistance with submission of required GOK statutory mineral mining and exploration returns.

Red Rock Kenya Ltd. As the Geology manager responsible for the overall project management of gold exploration, including prospect evaluation, target generation, resource deliration of Mid Migori Mining Project, in the Southwestern Kenya – Nyanza province. Main responsibility: – Execution of both greenfield and brownfield gold and base metal exploration in Migori Kenya (approx. 325km2 area), including the following activities:
