01 — BackgroundAfrica holds significant mineral, hydrocarbon, geothermal and groundwater resources central to the continent’s economic development, energy security and transition to sustainable development — yet geoscience knowledge, technical capacity and professional networks remain unevenly connected across regions.
Building on the success of previous GEOEACE editions and the momentum of CAG30 (Nairobi, 2025), the 4th edition intentionally broadens its reach beyond its East African base to draw participation from West, North, Central and Southern Africa — creating a genuinely continental platform for knowledge exchange, investment and professional collaboration.
